Digitax Solutions is an accounting practice on Avenue Herrmann-Debroux in Auderghem, under enterprise number 0768.666.008 and ITAA registration 52.344.028. The firm publishes its entire site in French and Dutch, which remains a minority practice in Brussels despite the Region's official bilingualism.

A definition of the trade, stated up front

The site opens with a sentence worth reading: accounting does more than record figures, it is a support and a source of data for analysing financial health and observing it as closely as possible. The phrasing says something about the positioning. A practice can confine itself to accurate returns filed on time, which is already a heavy obligation; making it a source of analysis means structuring the bookkeeping so the figures are readable during the year, and not only at the close.

Six strands announced

The offering is presented in six blocks: bookkeeping, tax, financial management, support, advice and starting a business. The third is the one read least often at a practice of this size: it names forecasting and budgeting, monitoring, profitability analysis and cash flow. That is forward-looking work, distinct from keeping the books, and it is not billed on the same footing.

Support during an audit

The support strand explicitly mentions assistance during audits. That service is worth identifying before it is needed. A VAT audit or a corporate income tax audit turns largely on the quality of the supporting documents and on the consistency between what was declared and what the books show. Knowing whether the practice stands with the client through that phase, and on what terms, belongs among the questions asked when signing the engagement letter.

The firm provides online access to accounting documents and invoices. Three questions are worth asking about a portal of this kind, and they rarely are: what the client can consult there, only their own documents or the trial balance and general ledger too; who pays for the licence; and above all what can be taken away on leaving. A complete and usable accounting export determines the real cost of changing practice three years later.

Documentation that is kept up

Alongside the service pages, the site publishes a monthly file, practical explanations, calculation tools, template letters, a calendar, figures and tables, and an annotated selection of useful links for founders, among them the Brussels regional portal for entrepreneurs. A practice that takes the time to comment on those resources rather than pile them up says something indirect about how it works.

Starting a business

The final strand covers the launch: financial plan, assistance, registration and various publications. The financial plan is the document that binds most. Since the reform of company law, an SRL is incorporated without minimum capital but with starting equity sufficient for the activity planned, and it is that document, handed to the notary, that demonstrates it. If the company fails within three years, it is brought back out and examined.
