Accountants working on cloud platforms in Belgium
The practices that keep the books on Yuki, Silverfin, Exact Online or Octopus.
The word "cloud" says little on its own: what changes is not where the software runs but when the information arrives. In classic bookkeeping the practice receives a box of documents after the quarter closes and reconstructs what happened. On a shared platform, purchase invoices arrive by email or photo as soon as they are received, bank movements flow in by themselves, and the owner watches the balance move without waiting. The gap between reality and its accounting translation drops from weeks to days.
What made the question urgent
Since 1 January 2026, structured electronic invoicing has been mandatory between VAT-registered businesses established in Belgium. This is not a matter of emailing a PDF: the invoice travels in Peppol BIS format across a network where each party has an access point. In practice a business must be able to issue and receive in that format, and its accountant must be able to work with it. Practices already on a connected platform absorbed the change; those working on paper had to choose a tool in a hurry.
Four platforms, four different roles
They are not interchangeable, and a practice often runs two. Yuki and Exact Online are complete online ledgers, where the file lives end to end. Octopus is a Belgian package widely used in mid-sized practices, with a portal through which the client submits documents. Silverfin plays a different part. It adds a working-papers and reporting layer over one, used to produce audit files, annual accounts and dashboards. A practice announcing Silverfin is therefore announcing a review method, not a place to key entries.
What the client gains, and what they give up
They gain the end of the quarterly folder, a VAT return prepared on data already entered, and the ability to ask about a figure both parties are looking at together. They give up some freedom: the platform imposes a flow, a way of naming and sending, and the practice that has mastered it will not migrate to another tool for one client. That is a real trade-off, not automatic progress.
Three questions before signing
First: who pays for the licence, the practice or the client, and what becomes of it if the relationship ends. Second: what does the client have access to, their own documents, or the trial balance and general ledger too. Third, the most important and the least asked: what can be taken away on leaving. A complete and usable accounting export is not guaranteed on every platform, and it is what determines the real cost of changing practice three years later. The answer belongs in the engagement letter, mandatory since 2020 between an ITAA member and their client.

It handles bookkeeping, VAT, annual accounts and tax advice, with fully digital document processing. Every client is given a fixed point of contact. The Kortrijk entity is registered with the ITAA under number 52.393.336.
Accountants Lauwers is an accounting office headquartered on Viermaartlaan in Ronse, East Flanders. The firm has locations in Ronse, Ghent, Kortrijk and Frasnes, on both sides of the language border. It combines advice, personal guidance and digital tools, and offers a start-up programme for new entrepreneurs. It works with the Yuki platform.
Adfibo Accountants is an accounting practice on Namenstraat in Antwerp. Founded in 1994, it is registered with the ITAA under number 50.070.285. The office keeps a regularly updated digital set of books and commits to at least one interim statement a year on top of the annual report. It handles VAT and tax returns and the preparation of annual accounts. The team includes several certified accountants and file managers, all named on the site.
B2B Tax Advisors is an accounting practice on Antoine Coppenslaan in Turnhout, in the province of Antwerp. Founded in 2009 by Gunter Segers, it works entirely digitally on the Yuki platform. The office handles bookkeeping, VAT and tax returns and annual accounts, and emphasises pricing announced in advance. It is registered with the ITAA under number 50.119.088. It serves self-employed professionals and small companies.
Fiduciaire JT & Nosa is a practice of accountants and tax advisers on Rue Chaussée in Fontaine-l'Évêque, Hainaut. The office works for self-employed professionals and companies, with full management of accounting and tax. It handles VAT and income tax returns, tax optimisation and assistance during audits. It also offers analysis of the figures and management advice. The office highlights its record on meeting deadlines.
FinCraft is a practice of accountants and tax advisers on Zevenbergen in Lier, in the province of Antwerp. The office reports more than 450 active clients, seven staff and fourteen years in business. Orcad Fiduciaire is an accounting and tax practice with two locations, on Route de Lennik in Anderlecht and Rue de Jolimont in La Hestre. The office sets up the accounting system, keeps the books or supervises data entry, and trains the client's staff where needed. It prepares the annual accounts and files them with the National Bank, produces provisional statements and reporting to a parent company. ITAA number 50.654.915.
VACcount is the accounting and administrative service of the Flemish Agricultural Centre, based on Burgemeester Maenhautstraat in Merelbeke, East Flanders. It works exclusively for farming and horticultural businesses. The service covers farm management accounting, tax and social security files, and permit procedures. It is backed by a research unit that tracks sector regulation and publishes the year's deadlines.
Zakenkantoor Van Hooff is an accounting office on Torenplein in Oelegem, in the municipality of Ranst, in the province of Antwerp.
