Vinoelst is an accounting and tax firm on Pourbusstraat in Antwerp. It was founded in 1945 by Henri Vinoelst and is now in its third generation. The firm is led by Tom Vinoelst, managing partner and certified tax accountant registered with the ITAA, together with Dirk Van Hove, partner and ITAA tax accountant. The team includes around ten file managers, several of them senior, and an office manager. Each staff member has their own specific training and is deployed on the work where they excel.
The firm serves about 350 clients, mainly SMEs, as well as multinationals with a Belgian presence. It works with companies, sole traders and liberal professions, private individuals on tax matters, non-profit associations, and Belgian branches and subsidiaries of foreign companies. Its services are backed by close working relationships with several payroll bureaus, statutory auditors and tax lawyers.
In accounting, Vinoelst keeps its clients' complete books, assists their in-house accounting department or reviews accounts kept internally. It provides accounting support and advice to companies, sole traders and liberal professions, and supports the year-end close, the preparation of annual accounts and the related tax optimisation. The firm has long invested in digitisation: clients submit their documents digitally, and after a check by a staff member they flow automatically into the accounts. The file can be viewed at any time through My Vinoelst, which gives access to the Clearfacts platform and to Exact Online.
On tax, the firm handles VAT obligations, assists and represents individuals, liberal professions and businesses in tax matters with full follow-up of their files, and advises on income tax, tax optimisation and tax planning. It also provides tax support to non-profits.
The company law service covers annual meetings, incorporations, appointments, capital increases, amendments to articles of association, dissolutions, restructurings and liquidations. For new businesses, the firm prepares the financial plan and articles of association, arranges registration with a business one-stop shop and applies for the business number, the VAT number and the contractor registration number.
Finally, Vinoelst assists with buying or selling a business: valuation, and the transfer of trading businesses or companies. It provides advice and practical support on restructuring issues and on choosing the business structure. The website publishes news items on practical topics, such as the benefit in kind and deductibility of electric cars, reimbursing home charging of company cars, or using identity cards as loyalty cards under data protection rules.
