Sogenam is a group of accountants and certified tax advisers whose Namur office is on route de Hannut in Bouge. The group is also present in Marche-en-Famenne, in Aye, under the name Fidufamenne, and in Brussels, home to its tax and legal consultancy unit. It has supported businesses for more than thirty years in their development and growth, advising on accounting, financial and strategic management.
Its multidisciplinary team has around forty staff: certified accountants, tax advisers registered with the ITAA, lawyers and financial analysts. Sogenam works with all economic players: small businesses, SMEs, large companies, subsidiaries of foreign groups, liberal professions, single-member companies, associations and non-profits, and partnerships used for wealth or succession planning.
The group claims particular expertise in the automotive sector, where it supports many car dealerships in restructuring their business. It also lists liberal professions such as doctors, lawyers and architects, large-scale retail and industry among its areas of work. It publishes case studies and newsletters on accounting and tax.
In accounting and tax, Sogenam supports clients from A to Z, from negotiation to assistance with the authorities. It provides regular, tailored operational, accounting and tax follow-up, helps prepare draft annual accounts and tax returns, analyses and interprets financial data and advises on accounting, tax and financial optimisation. It carries out consolidation for large companies, trains and supports clients' accounting staff, helps them recruit a finance director and advises on software choices.
An in-house VAT unit works exclusively on this subject. It writes opinions on property VAT, the medical sector, e-commerce and European and international rules, carries out compliance and risk audits, including during acquisitions, optimises cash flow and deduction rights, sets up VAT groups and assists clients during audits.
The strategy unit, active for more than ten years, handles business valuation and disposals and acquisitions. Its experts apply valuation methods suited to the sector and the economic climate, when investors come in, for an acquisition or a disposal, assist in negotiations and put together bank files. It also prepares feasibility studies, financial plans, dashboards, cost accounting and financial, legal and managerial restructurings.
For expansion or transfer projects, the group offers full support: expert reports, due diligence files or audits, finding and negotiating financing, and assistance in accounting, financial and legal negotiations. It also advises on succession planning and the transfer of family businesses, and helps draft legal documents. Start-ups and self-employed people moving to a company receive support at launch.
