Mattax LLN

Mattax LLN is a chartered accounting and tax firm certified by the ITAA under number 50.761.211. Until recently it was known as THG LLN. It is based on chemin du Stocquoy in Wavre, close to the business park, and covers the Brussels, Gembloux and Namur corridor. The practice began in 2010 with the takeover of a client portfolio of SMEs and business owners. Today the firm reports more than 350 clients, including over 200 companies, over 165 individuals and 35 non-profits and foundations. It works in French and English.

The team has around ten staff. Five of them are certified chartered accountants: Valérie Cochaux, who holds a degree in economics and a diploma in tax sciences and has more than thirty-five years of experience, along with Laurence Del Bruyère, Christophe Lebeau and Olivier Julien. A trainee close to qualification, bookkeepers managing client files, one of them specialised in international tax, and two office managers complete the team. Staff can draw on the network of specialists within the Mattax group for consolidation, estate planning, commercial law or national and European grants.

The firm keeps or supervises the books and sets up internal procedures with its clients that automate data entry as far as possible, working with a local IT partner. Scanning invoices and documents gives the relevant departments remote access to files and reliable financial information throughout the year. It handles every Belgian tax matter for individuals, companies, non-profits and foundations, as well as the obligations of VAT-registered businesses: returns, the OSS one-stop shop, the annual listing and setting up VAT groups. It assists clients during tax audits.

On remuneration, Mattax LLN prepares payslips and the annual summary for company directors, files the payroll withholding tax return and works on optimising directors' pay. The management consulting service includes analysis of results and regular check-ups, reporting dashboards, profitability calculations, the financial plan, business valuation and due diligence.

The firm also carries out the statutory assignments reserved for certified chartered accountants: dissolution of companies, change of legal form, mergers and demergers, representing a partner exercising their individual right of inspection, business valuation, and applying the law on business continuity in judicial reorganisation. For business formation, it helps with administrative and legal steps and with the financial plan.

In business law, it advises on transfers and restructuring, increases in contributions or capital, shareholder agreements, share purchase and sale agreements, and loan and lease agreements. It supports wealth planning alongside the client's other advisers and works with banks, lawyers, notaries and IT specialists.

Its clients range from sole traders working full-time or part-time to single-member companies and local SMEs, as well as branches of foreign companies, companies within an international group, non-profits, public or private benefit foundations and public bodies. The published testimonials include the Fondation Folon, a dental practice supported when the partners joined forces with colleagues, and several founders of technology companies.
