ACOFI

ACOFI is an accounting practice based in Neuville-en-Condroz, in the municipality of Neupré, in the province of Liège, with a second office in Stavelot. It was founded by Olivier Tournemenne, a certified chartered accountant and tax adviser, member of the ITAA. The firm reports more than 1,400 active engagements and some twenty years of accumulated experience, which places it among the mid-sized Walloon practices: broad enough to cover a company's full range of obligations, close enough for a file to stay recognisable.

The core of the work is the organisation and management of accounts, which the firm describes as covering "all the tasks and obligations" in that field. That runs from routine processing (handling documents, following customer and supplier accounts, bank reconciliations) to preparing the annual accounts and the interim statements that let a trajectory be judged before the year-end fixes it. For a growing business, that regularity is worth more than an annual catch-up: it makes variances visible while they can still be corrected.

The second field is tax, which the office approaches in both its dimensions, "direct or indirect". Direct taxes cover corporate income tax and the director's personal income tax, inseparable as soon as a remuneration, a dividend or an investment has to be weighed. Indirect taxes, chief among them VAT, follow a different logic: declarative, periodic, and penalised on form as much as on substance. Handling them together prevents an optimisation on one side from creating an exposure on the other.

The practice also acts at company formation and in strategic management, that is at both ends of a company's life: the moment its form and structure are chosen, and the moment growth, restructuring or transfer is decided. In between, digitalisation holds an explicit place in the offering. ACOFI gives its clients a set of integrated portals (Odoo, Billtobox, Falco, Scrada and FID Manager) covering invoicing, document flow and file tracking.

That tooling choice is not neutral for the client. A practice receiving documents through a structured channel rather than in bags of receipts works on current data, and can answer a cash-flow question without first entering three months of backlog. The business, for its part, keeps control of its invoicing and sees its file move forward. With its seat in Neupré and a branch in Stavelot, the office covers an axis running from south of Liège into the Ardennes: an area where well-equipped alternatives are not plentiful, and where geographical proximity still counts for a great many self-employed people.
