Magecofi-Atecofi is a firm of tax accountants accredited by the ITAA under number 50.605.001. It was formed by the merger of two accounting and tax practices in Uccle and Waterloo, and now has two offices: on chaussée de Bruxelles in Waterloo, the company's registered office, and on avenue Winston Churchill in Uccle. Since the merger, the firm has been growing and aims to become one of the leading accounting and tax advisory practices in south Brussels and Walloon Brabant. It has been active for more than ten years.

The firm was founded by Kevin Charlier, who previously worked at well-known accounting firms. He wants to move away from the traditional role of keeper of the figures and help entrepreneurs see how tailored handling of their income and expenses can open up new opportunities. The team includes accountants, an accounting assistant and a secretariat. The firm highlights three values: listening and empathy, rigour and precision in analysing data, and proactivity, with recent tools and a willingness to anticipate client requests. Each client has a dedicated contact person, something several reviews point out.

In accounting, Magecofi-Atecofi handles day-to-day bookkeeping for self-employed people and companies and prepares the annual balance sheet, which it also presents as an analysis tool. It files the required documents each year with the registry of the enterprise court. An online client area lets clients upload and view documents, and the firm invests in digitisation to streamline handling of figures and improve analysis.

On tax, it prepares quarterly or monthly VAT returns and tax returns for individuals and businesses, advises on optimisation and assists clients in disputes with the tax authorities. It also offers payroll management for employees and business management advice.

For business formation, the firm helps prepare the business plan, supports the incorporation of the company and handles administrative formalities with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises and the VAT authorities. It also offers registered office domiciliation, providing a fixed business address. It holds the business vouchers label, allowing start-ups to obtain "business formation" vouchers, and works with partners in legal, accounting and administrative fields.

The firm publishes monthly articles and a newsletter on accounting, tax and entrepreneurship: choosing between self-employment and a company, renting a personal car to one's company, the minimum salary for the reduced corporate income tax rate, the capital gains tax, VAT for renovation businesses and invoicing via Peppol. It is open Monday to Thursday from 9.00 to 17.00 and until 15.00 on Fridays.
