Groupe MDS

Groupe MDS is a chartered accountancy firm set up as a public limited company, with its registered office on avenue du Bourgmestre Etienne Demunter, at the Greenland Office Park in Jette, in north Brussels. It has a second office on Drève Richelle in Waterloo, Walloon Brabant. The firm is approved by the ITAA under number 50.619.953. Its tagline: "Notre expertise-comptable, une fiscalité équitable pour votre entreprise" (our accountancy, fair taxation for your business).

The story begins in 1997, when Stéphane Moriaux, Nicolas De Coster and Didier Schuurman founded MDS Consulting. In 2001 the firm developed its own practice management software, MDS Software. It moved to its open-plan office in Jette in 2011, welcomed two new partners, Alexandre De Wever and Quentin Roobaert, in 2020, and took over the Arickx accounting firm in Forest the same year. In 2021 it became Groupe MDS and opened the Waterloo office. On 23 June 2026 it joined PIA Group, active in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, while keeping its name, identity, contacts and way of working.

The team numbers around twenty: the five partners, including two managing partners, a manager, accounting, legal and administrative supervisors, accountants, an IT analyst and administrative and legal staff. The organisation is both vertical and cross-functional: each client is followed by a dedicated team supervised by a partner. The firm highlights proactivity, technology, confidentiality and values of quality, availability and wellbeing at work, and lets clients flag the urgency of a request, to be handled within 24 or 48 hours.

In accountancy, MDS processes financial transactions regularly, digitises accounting documents and provides access to a secure online platform. It prepares periodic statements and annual accounts, files them with the National Bank once approved, prepares reports and minutes for boards and general meetings, and carries out audits and internal controls to check that financial processes comply. The relationship is set out in an engagement letter with fees explained in detail at the outset.

In corporate tax, the firm aims for a reasonable tax burden in line with income and legal opportunities, and prepares returns after optimisation. Its legal department supports the company throughout its life, from incorporation and updating the articles to drafting contracts and selling the business. The financial analysis team provides periodic indicators, budgets and management tools. In employment law, MDS helps with recruitment, acts as intermediary with the payroll office and optimises the remuneration of directors and shareholders.

Its teams know many sectors, including business services, IT, retail, real estate, communications, industry, liberal professions and non-profits. The website publishes a monthly selection of tax, employment and legal news, such as pay transparency or the withholding on invoices for self-employed social security debts.
