AXYLIUM AUDIT - LIEGE

Axylium Audit Liège is the Liège office of the Axylium group, on rue Julien d'Andrimont. Axylium presents itself as a local group bringing together registered company auditors, accountants and tax advisers, who serve clients mainly in Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The group has offices in Esneux, Eupen, Barchon, Sprimont, Liège and Verviers, as well as in Weiswampach, in northern Luxembourg. It grew out of several partners' wish to pool their expertise in a network while keeping a human scale.

The core of the audit business is the statutory audit of accounts. Under its statutory auditor mandates, Axylium seeks reasonable assurance that the annual accounts are free from material misstatement and issues a report with its opinion. It audits single-entity accounts, consolidated accounts and IFRS accounts. The group also presents the auditor as a useful partner beyond the statutory audit, giving an opinion on the reliability of financial or non-financial information, following an internationally recognised methodology and strict ethical rules. It carries out special assignments, such as the report on a change of corporate purpose or a dividend distribution.

The accounting department works on the principle of « one file, one responsible partner », with staff able to step in when someone is away. Bookkeeping covers recording all transactions, checking and correcting accounts, centralisation entries, monthly or quarterly interim statements, preparing annual accounts for filing with the National Bank, internal control and organising the client's accounting department. The group relies on a broad network of auditors, notaries, lawyers, bankers, brokers and social secretariats.

The tax department works with tax lawyers specialising in Belgian, Luxembourg or foreign law. For VAT, it prepares returns within ten days of receiving the documents, prepares annual and intra-community listings and assists clients during audits. For direct taxes, it drafts the company's return and those of its directors or managers, calculates the tax and advance payments, represents the client during audits and objections, looks for the least-taxed legal route and builds defence files based on doctrine and case law.

The advisory unit supports succession planning, setting up dashboards and business transfers: analysis of historical and forecast data, valuing the shares, structuring the deal and drafting the agreements, on the seller's or the buyer's side. It also works on mergers and acquisitions. Finally, specialised wealth management advisers offer a full review of assets, as one-off advice or a subscription package, covering property investments, choice of loan, transferring the company or assets and structuring the pay package.
