Accounting for More, or AFM, is a chartered accounting and tax firm on rue du Petit Floreffe in Acoz, part of Gerpinnes. The company is accredited by the ITAA under number 50.203.358. AFM continues the BECJB practice, run for nearly twenty years by Jocelyne Binamé. In early 2022, after a long-prepared transition, she handed over to Elodie Mengeot, who joined in 2009 as a personal and corporate income tax file manager and is now a certified chartered accountant and tax adviser specialising in VAT and management support. The philosophy, team and skills have stayed the same.
The team numbers around ten: two business advisers who have been there since the early 2000s, one of them a specialist in company liquidations and dissolutions, file managers, data entry and preparation staff, and a secretary-bookkeeper. The firm sums up its philosophy in one line: people as the benchmark for excellent figures. It sees the accountant as an adviser to the business owner, helping them seize the opportunities the law offers and warning them of its limits.
Core work covers bookkeeping, VAT and tax returns, cost and management accounting, closing and filing the annual accounts with the National Bank, interim statements with commentary, and advice and active defence during VAT and tax audits. On tools, the firm has used Codabox for several years, scans all documents and automatically integrates clients' invoicing and tills into the accounts. After a one-year pilot in 2019, it also offers the Billtobox platform for document exchange, invoicing and payment management.
The firm's strongest specialism is preparing business plans with detailed cash flow plans, used for management and for seeking bank, public or private financing at start-up, acquisition or growth stages. It also advises on optimising directors' pay (rent, fringe benefits, social security rules, payroll withholding, IPT and VAPZ pension insurance), setting up VAT groups and autonomous groupings, analysing incorporation, business financing and grant applications.
For business formation, AFM assesses the project's feasibility, helps choose between operating as an individual or a company, prepares a financial plan and explains the administrative steps. It also supports the sale and transfer of businesses and strategic management: dashboards, cash monitoring, investment plans and financial diagnosis. The firm is approved for Wallonia's business vouchers scheme for formation, growth and transfer, which can partly cover fees under certain conditions.
AFM works with every sector but claims particular expertise in bakery, patisserie and chocolate-making, with management follow-up and cost price calculations specific to these trades. The first consultation is free.
