Meesters Accountants

Meesters Accountants is a family firm of accountants founded in 1992 by Frank Proost and Chris Meesters, who are still active and have since been joined by their sons Vincent Meesters and Christophe Proost. Starting out in Schilde, the firm grew organically, without acquisitions, and moved its main base to Zoersel in 2016. Today it has four offices, in Schilde, Zoersel, Kalmthout and Vosselaar, between Antwerp and the Kempen. The team numbers around forty staff, including seven accountants certified by the ITAA, and the company is registered with the institute under number 50.621.367.

The firm organises its work around four areas of expertise brought together in a single file: accounting, tax, legal and finance. Each client has a dedicated file manager, who brings the right people together around the question at hand. In accounting, the firm handles digital bookkeeping, VAT returns and the annual accounts, and helps clients understand what their figures say about their business. New clients can book a free introductory meeting, at the office or online, and the firm aims to answer questions within two working days.

The tax side covers returns and advice. The firm looks at the consequences of choices about pay, profit distribution or investment, and weighs the longer-term economic consequences, not just the immediate tax effect. It also advises on company structures. The legal side deals with contracts, partnerships, company matters and employment questions, bringing in specialists for complex files. The finance side maps out results and cash flow and helps assess financing, growth or an acquisition.

The firm has built sector approaches: construction, management, IT, SMEs, liberal professions, retail and consultants. For construction companies, it tracks the margin per site, linking quotes, hours and invoices so that extra work shows up in the post-calculation, as well as the pre-financing of sites. It also supports obligations relating to subcontractors and foreign workers, such as Limosa declarations and A1 certificates, and links contractual questions to their financial consequences for the business.

On the tools side, the firm chooses a software combination with each client, including Exact Online, Adsolut, Expert-M, Kyte and eenvoudigfactureren.be. Documents are submitted through ClearFacts, figures and reports can be viewed in Silverfin, and some files run in a dedicated Odoo environment. The website offers a client portal, an exportable tax calendar and a toolbox: loan repayment simulator, company car cost checker, foreign daily allowances, social security contributions, a share register template and links to the UBO register, Dimona and VAT number checks.
