REMON & Co is a firm of registered company auditors, incorporated as an SRL and based on rue du Réemploi, in the Ecolys business park in Suarlée, part of Namur. It describes itself as a regional-sized firm with a national footprint, active in Wallonia and in the Brussels-Capital Region. It does not belong to any international network but has built links with many independent firms. Appointments are available Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 1 pm to 5 pm, with Wednesday afternoons reserved for closed-door work.

The firm was founded by Christophe Remon, company auditor and director. He is a court-appointed expert at the courts of first instance of Namur and Liège, the enterprise court and the Liège court of appeal, and a liquidator or deputy receiver at the Liège enterprise court. He is also a consultant approved by the Walloon Region for business creation, transfer and growth, and an approved expert for valuing pharmacies. He teaches company reorganisations, liquidations and valuations at UCLouvain FUCaM Mons and sits on committees of the Institute of Company Auditors.

The team includes several auditors, trainee auditors, certified accountants and trainees: every member is an accounting professional. Alexandre Etienne, with the firm since 2005, specialises in auditing family SMEs and non-profits, notably schools and care homes, and regularly assists businesses in difficulty. One auditor acts as anti-money laundering compliance officer and internal quality reviewer, and another staff member handles European audits.

The main statutory assignment is the statutory auditor mandate: giving, as an independent expert, an opinion on the reliability of the annual accounts or consolidated accounts. The firm presents this audit as constructive and based on dialogue, with the aim of helping the entity improve its financial statements and governance. Mandatory for large companies, it can be requested voluntarily by an SME, and companies not subject to a statutory audit can opt for a certification assignment.

The firm also issues the statutory reports required by the Code of Companies and Associations for a liquidation, a conversion, a contribution in kind or quasi-contribution, a merger, a demerger or a restructuring, as well as reports to the general meeting on an issue of shares or bonds or a change in the rights attached to shares. A certified accountant in the team supports these operations as well as business valuations and transfers.

Other assignments complete the activity: court-appointed expert work to inform the judge on a technical point, valuations, due diligence and drafting legal agreements. The firm stresses a human approach to figures and a wish to simplify complex subjects. In December 2022, Christophe Remon and Alexandre Etienne received the title of Laureate of Labour, with the Master of Trades label for the audit, accounting and tax professions sector.
