Certifisc is an accounting and advisory firm founded in 1999 in Oudenaarde by Jorn Peyskens. A second office later opened in Zwijnaarde, Ghent, to stay accessible to clients, and the website announces a third location in south-west Flanders from 2027. The name combines CERTI, from the Latin certus for certainty, and FISC for tax. The firm claims more than 25 years of experience and over 1,000 clients, and sums up its promise as figures and advice in plain language, fully digital and very personal.
Its clients range from start-ups to groups of companies, with liberal professions and company directors in between. Certifisc aims to be their only partner for accountancy, tax, legal and corporate finance, with no referrals and no loose ends. Its advice covers the self-employed activity as well as the private matters connected with it.
Digital bookkeeping is the foundation. Clients can follow their file closely or leave everything to the firm, which processes the figures by the rules and without paper. Certifisc works with the Yuki, Odoo, Exact Online and Octopus platforms and adapts to what suits each client. Silverfin also features among its access points, and invoicing runs through CertiBox for new self-employed clients. The firm also says it actively embraces the latest AI applications.
Reporting is a distinctive point. Certifisc helped develop AiGust, a reporting tool that adds context to the familiar figures. Its built-in sector benchmarks show at a glance how a business performs against comparable companies.
In tax advice, the firm analyses the director's income, expenses and plans, and favours considered choices over opaque schemes. Legal advice covers articles of association, contracts, valuations and liability at every stage of business life, from start-up to transfer. The team includes lawyers, grouped in a Legal Consultants unit.
Financial structuring supports takeovers, sales, restructurings and succession to the next generation. Everything starts with a strategic plan, after which the firm helps with implementation: preparing the business for sale, steering the takeover process, the financing application and drafting the documents.
Start-ups have access to an offer at a fixed monthly rate. It includes costing the plan and the financial plan, a one-hour meeting with an accountant on form, choices and costs, all start-up formalities, from incorporation to the VAT number, through the BCE and the notary, and the setup of bookkeeping and invoicing. A first advisory meeting is free. A member of the ITAA, the firm also stresses staff training and wellbeing at work.
